Farmer's Market
Citizens for a Green Mount Airy has a weekly presence at the Mount Airy Farmer's Market behind the Pharmacy, in front of Blossom and Boutique from 4-7 p.m. We pass out literature concerning the importance of local agriculture in developing a strong, sustainable local economy, as well as aim to contextualize the importance of farmer's markets in a broader social and political framework. We also distribute literature for our group and talk to shoppers about the importance of organic food, for personal and environmental health.
Tasty Contributions
At the Wednesday, July 11th market we introduced a delicious addition to the market's cuisine and our group's presence: we gave out free wild organic wineberries and raw vegan wild organic wineberry pie. Check it out:
